Too many women think they have to give up the career they love to have a happy family. Getting to 50/50 shows them how to negotiate with bosses and husbands so that everybody wins-including the kids. Highly recommended
A tremendously refreshing and insightful read for parents who want to meet their career aspirations and raise balanced, happy children
Anyone who wants to combine children and careers should read this book
When I lived in New York I was introduced to Sharon Meers, a firecracking feminist and former Goldman Sachs Managing Director who co-authored a brilliantly clear-eyed book Getting to 50/50 about the simple necessity of splitting the parenting of children 50/50 if women are going to be able to fully engage with their careers after having kids and if men are going to fully engage with being parents. The book comes out in paperback this September and frankly is so full of smart, practical, honest advice and juicy little insights into contemporary marriage that I'm buying another copy for my girlfriend
