How to Use Dreams to Hear Your Psychic Self

Spiritual healing is a very powerful thing, especially when it comes to the grieving process after losing a loved one. Some people need help to get through that difficult, sad time and psychic healers can be just the people to do this. Clairvoyant readings can give you advice on love, work, relationships and even the future – perfect for when you can’t see a light at the end of the tunnel. But you don’t have to seek professional help to do this. There are ways to be your own medium, to talk with the spirits and receive that energy yourself. This starts by understanding dreams and tapping into your own sub-consciousness. Start your own dream book and write them down – you’ll be amazed at the results!  

1) Look for messages
During the day, our brain is constantly on the go – checking emails, taking in information, assessing surroundings. When we’re asleep, our mind is switched off, and it is during this time when all the logical thinking we did in the day is placed into the subconscious. The intuitive mind when we’re asleep now starts to work, showing you things you may have missed when awake. For example, if you went for a job interview during the day and thought it went horribly wrong – your creative state of mind when you’re asleep could highlight the positives of the meeting and you’ll dream about a job situation that did go well. This is your creative mind helping you understand a different perspective.  

2) Calm the mind
Letting go of everyday concerns and drifting off into a state of unconsciousness will allow spirits to visit in your dreams. Seeing spirits in your dreams can prove you do have psychic abilities and can connect with the underworld.  

3) Work on your feelings
After every dream, ask yourself how you felt and think back to the last time you felt that way when awake. Dreams are all about feelings. For example, if you were driving in the day and a child walked out in front of the car, you’d automatically slam on the brakes. Although missing the child, you’d feel shaken, scared and guilty that you weren’t paying attention to the road. That night you dream you’re in the woods cutting down a tree. But as you’re sawing, you spot a nest full of baby birds, so hold the tree to stop it from toppling over. As it falls to the ground, those feelings of feeling scared and shaken come back – along with the guilt for destroying the birds’ home. By focusing on your feelings in dreams and working out where they came from in your day-to-day life, the more you’ll understand your intuition. Once you recognize the feelings, you can recognise their meanings.

4) Record your dreams
Despite living a lifetime, many of us can only remember a handful of our dreams. Keep a pen and paper by your bed – or even a Dictaphone – and record every detail of the dream, even if it’s in the middle of the night. Think about your feelings first. Were you happy, sad, scared, angry? Secondly, think about colours and the storyline. Dreams speak in symbols, so you’ll find there will be a lot of animals, water, travel (like running or driving) and falling. All of these things will relate to something in the day. The more you record and focus on your dreams, the stronger the link to your intuitive mind will be and you’ll soon find listening to your gut feeling that bit easier.  

5) Ask and you shall receive
If you don’t like the thought of seeing spirits described in point three, all you need to do is ask the spirits not to come and they won’t. The same goes for lucid dreaming (somewhere between waking and sleeping). This is an excellent time to make contact with a loved lost one. If you ask your mind to bring the departed forward, more often then not, they will walk straight into your dream.
